Financial Crime Strategy, Advisory & Oversight Lead

Leading UK Retail Bank.

A senior second-line role where you advise on, challenge and shape how a regulated bank manages AML, sanctions and wider financial crime risk.

The role

• You will give expert advice on AML, CTF, sanctions and Anti-Bribery & Corruption, including complex cases, while keeping second-line independence.
• You will lead oversight of the bank’s financial crime control frameworks, challenge first-line owners on the effectiveness of CDD, EDD, screening and ongoing monitoring, and run risk-based thematic reviews that lead to changes in the business.
• You will also help shape the Financial Crime strategy, support technology and data control enhancements, and work with the Fraud Risk Oversight Lead and Internal Audit.

What you bring

• Significant second line 2
  
  LOD financial crime compliance experience in a UK regulated firm
• Strong technical knowledge of AML, sanctions and CDD regulation
• A record of delivering monitoring, thematic reviews or assurance
• Experience challenging senior stakeholders constructively and giving pragmatic advice
• The ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery
• ICA Diploma, ACAMS or an equivalent is desirable
