Allocations Officer

Overview

A local authority in Berkshire is seeking an experienced Housing Allocations Officer to join its Housing Services team. This role plays a key part in delivering a fair, transparent, and legally compliant allocations service, providing advice and assistance in line with the Council's Allocations Scheme and Nominations Agreement.

• Manage the allocation process through to property matching, making informed decisions on housing register applications, and determining application status and banding.
• Allocate accommodation via direct matching, including cases involving medical needs, delayed discharge of care, under-occupiers, and homelessness.
• Coordinate the input of void and new-build properties from Housing Associations.

• Practical experience using NEC (Northgate), Civica, or Jigsaw within a housing allocations or housing register environment.

This is a hybrid role, with 2 days per week office-based.
