Manchester City Council is recruiting two Anti‑Social Behaviour Case Officers on an interim basis, based primarily at the Town Hall Extension, Lloyd Street, Manchester City Centre. The contract runs from 6 July 2026 to 31 December 2026 and pays £20.43 per hour via XMS.
Working across the city, you will engage face‑to‑face with residents, businesses and individuals involved in anti‑social behaviour, often conducting street‑based activity alongside key partners including Greater Manchester Police. The team takes a trauma‑informed approach, balancing prevention and early intervention with formal enforcement, including preparation of cases for court action. You will also handle standard neighbour nuisance casework, using both informal and formal powers to address ASB.
You must be confident and resilient in enforcing legislation — issuing verbal and written warnings and building cases for potential court proceedings — while explaining enforcement decisions clearly and handling challenges professionally. Strong communication skills are essential, including active listening, empathy and assertiveness, with the ability to lead on community safety responses.
If you are a motivated individual with a strong customer focus and experience in ASB, community safety or a related enforcement or casework environment, we want to hear from you.
