Qualification(s): EHRB/CIEH registered Environmental Health Officer/ Registered Environmental Health Practitioner/Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner with experience of food enforcement and to have maintained their competencies. Candidates must have an Environmental Health Degree
Three full time vacancies has arisen in the Food, Health and Safety and Airport Team at Manchester City Council to cover maternity leave.

About the CandidateWe would love to hear from you if you have an Environmental Health Degree and have experience in food enforcement and have maintained your competencies.
EHRB registered Environmental Health Officer/ CIEH Registered Environmental Health Practitioner/Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner with experience of food enforcement and evidence of maintaining the required competencies.
Exceptional Environmental Health graduates or very soon to be registered/chartered officers will be considered on development roles.
An understanding of legislation relevant to enforcement in Food/Health & Safety and a practical approach to its application. A good understanding of the UK legal system is required including a detailed understanding of a large number of Acts, regulations, guidance and codes of practice. An ability to clearly communicate requirements to businesses.
Must be familiar with applying the Corporate Enforcement Policy and the Regulators' Code, and understand enforcement and investigation procedures, including evidence gathering, preparation of prosecution case files, Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) interview processes, the appropriate use of powers under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (RIPA), UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and giving evidence in court.
