About this jobThe ‘Manchester Healthy Schools’ team invites a motivated and creative practitioner to lead on the specialist area of PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education). You will manage and coordinate work across a wide range of health and education settings, building relationships with teachers, health professionals and external stakeholders, and delivering evidence‑based health promotion programmes to Manchester’s children and young people.
Responsibilities- Lead the delivery of PSHE programmes across the city and support schools in meeting key public health priorities.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to implement evidence‑based interventions.
- Plan, organise and deliver training sessions, workshops and public speaking engagements.
- Provide ongoing supervision and professional development to staff and collaborators.
- Travel throughout Manchester to partner with schools and other settings; hold a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Contribute to the strategic vision and to the development of the Manchester PSHE curriculum.
- Degree level education in a relevant discipline or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Strong communication, negotiation and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent planning, organisation and public speaking skills.
- Experience working within educational or community settings is an advantage.
- Ongoing supervision and professional development opportunities.
