The Service Manager position provides support to the Clinical Service triumvirate and, is responsible for delivery of all operational performance targets, including access targets, delivery of financial balance, trading gap plans, and the quality of services to patients and improving services towards best practice standards within available income.
The post holder will provide support to the strategic direction agreed through the Clinical Service triumvirate, in conjunction with the Clinical Leads and Matrons. The post holder will work closely with the General Manager, Clinical Director and Lead Nurse and Clinical Group Directors/ leadership teams to achieve the MFT/Clinical Group objectives and will be expected to make a positive contribution to the delivery of health services across the local health community and relevant networks.
The post holder will lead on a number of agreed projects as directed by the Associate Director of Operations and General Manager to improve patient care and services and/or the wellbeing of staff.
We have two exciting Service Manager opportunities in Clinical Haematology - Renal, Haematology and Transplant Services Care Division and Urgent and Emergency Care Division Both Care Divisions welcome applications from motivated and dynamic individuals who have strong leadership and organisational skills, to join respective leadership teams. Main duties of the jobClinical Haematology
One of the largest departments in the country, Clinical Haematology provides regional tertiary services for haematological malignancy, stem cell transplantation, advanced therapeutic medicinal products (gene therapy), thrombosis & haemostasis and haemoglobinopathies.
The post holder will have responsibility for the day-to-day operational management. You will be responsible for monitoring and achieving key performance indicators, contracted activity, finance, service/quality standards and service productivity and efficiency.
The post holder will support the service development and improvement, ensuring delivery of MFT's Strategic aims, supporting the NHS 10-year plan and support Care Division cross-cutting work streams.
Urgent and Emergency Care
You will provide both strategic and operational leadership within the Urgent and Emergency Care Division, overseeing the day-to-day management to ensure the consistent delivery of safe, efficient, and patient-centred care. You will be responsible for monitoring and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) specific to urgent and emergency care, such as meeting the four-hour A&E target, ambulance handover times, patient flow, and time to initial assessment and treatment.
Ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and national targets will be central to your remit.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities are essential, as the role requires building positive relationships across multidisciplinary teams. The successful individual will be proactive and resilient, with a genuine passion for driving service improvement and delivering high-quality patient care.
