About this jobThis role is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and dynamic Radiopharmacy team to provide a high quality radiopharmaceutical service.
The job as a Radiopharmacy Support Worker comes with full training provided and for the right candidate who shows an aptitude for the job.
The Radiopharmacy Department provides comprehensive radiopharmaceutical services to this Trust and to other hospitals.
The service includes the manufacture and quality control of radiopharmaceuticals and preparation of radio labelled blood components for clinical use in diagnostic imaging.
The Unit holds a MHRA Manufacturer’s ‘Specials’ Licence . We are looking for a candidate with a good literacy and numeracy skills.
You will be working as part of a team of highly professional and dedicated staff whose aim is to provide an excellent, patient focus service.
The post holder will work as part of the Radiopharmacy Team, delivering an efficient and high-quality Radiopharmacy service.
To assist the Radiopharmacy Production Manager in the procurement of raw materials and supplies and stock controlto ensure the Radiopharmacy can maintain the manufacturing service to its customers The post-holder will be required to develop specialist knowledge and experience of the principles of operation of the equipment in the Radiopharmacy and undertake routine checks.
To undertake radiation monitoring and be responsible for the monitoring and disposal of radioactive waste The post holder will have a good level of physical fitness, to enable effective operation of a wide range of specialist equipment, as well as manual handling of trolleys/cages and lifting of heavy lead shields.
Good hand-eye co-ordination is essential, as well as good spatial awareness and manual dexterity.
