We are looking for a committed Pharmacist to join our team at HMP Forest Bank. You will be working with a multi‑disciplinary team of healthcare professionals and leading our existing technician workforce. The role involves the overall daily organisation, planning and co‑ordination of all pharmacy services on‑site, leading the onsite dispensary, and focusing on medicines management across the entire establishment. As a member of Spectrum Community Health you will deliver a pharmacy service at HMP Forest Bank in line with GPhC standards and recommendations outlined in "A pharmacy service for prisoners" and "Safer Prescribing in Prisons".
You will collaborate with the Medicines Management Pharmacist, other Spectrum Specialist Prison Pharmacists, Lead GP, other GPs, and the prisons to ensure high‑quality pharmacy services are integrated into Spectrum Community Health. Through a partnership approach you will help patients optimise their medicines, identify unmet pharmaceutical needs, improve access and service efficiency, promote good practice in prescribing, and assist the Prison Health Care team in achieving NSF targets, NICE implementation, medicines management initiatives, and the introduction of electronic prescribing.

- Oversee the daily organisation, planning and co‑ordination of all pharmacy services on‑site.
- Lead the onsite dispensary and focus on medicines management across the establishment.
- Collaborate with Medicines Management Pharmacists, Specialist Prison Pharmacists, Lead GP, other GPs and the prison staff to ensure high‑quality pharmacy services.
- Help patients optimise their medicines by tailoring medicines and support to individual patient needs.
- Identify unmet pharmaceutical needs and improve access and service efficiency, including reducing wasted medicines.
- Encourage the development of better medicines management understanding throughout the wider healthcare and prison teams.
- Promote good practice in prescribing decisions in line with therapeutic developments.
- Assist the Prison Health Care team in achieving NSF targets, NICE implementation, medicines management initiatives, and the introduction of electronic prescribing.
