We are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to join our Children and Young People’s Mental Health Service (CYPMHS), supporting children, young people, and their families in Cheshire West. This post offers hands‑on experience in a busy and dynamic mental health service, where you will work alongside Clinical Psychologists and other professionals.
OverviewAs an Assistant Psychologist, you will assist in delivering psychological assessments and interventions under supervision. Your role will involve clinical work, data collection, service evaluation, and audit processes, supporting the team in providing high‑quality care.
You will gain invaluable experience in a range of therapeutic approaches, including CBT, DBT, and other evidence‑based interventions. Opportunities for supervision and training will help develop your clinical skills, focusing on improving outcomes for young people with mental health challenges.
Responsibilities- Assist in delivering psychological assessments and interventions under supervision.
- Support clinical work, including data collection, service evaluation, and audit processes.
- Co‑facilitate group interventions under the supervision of a qualified professional Psychologist.
- Assist in clinically related administration, audit and/or research projects.
- Work in the Psychology Team to develop and organise data, self‑help materials and other resources.
- Support and enhance the care of clients referred to the CYPMHS.
- A psychology degree (minimum 2:1).
- Psychology graduates aspiring to a future career in clinical psychology.
- Excellent communication skills.
