Location : Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital

Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital (RMCH) is a large tertiary Children’s Hospital that provides regional and supra-regional services to include most clinical paediatric specialties.

Do you have an interest in children’s nutrition and enjoy working with a team? If so, this is an ideal opportunity for you to join us. We have an exciting opportunity for a Dietetic assistant to join our team of 36 paediatric dietitians and 3 other dietetic assistants to support the dietetic department.

We are based in the 371 bed, purpose built hospital in the middle of Manchester's vibrant city Centre, where we strive to develop our paediatric dietetic team to reflect state of the art facilities in the largest single-site children’s hospital in the UK.

This post is mainly office based and administrative.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a link between dietitians and their patients requiring dietary modification, RMCH nurses, our special feeds unit, and the catering service.
  • Work with dietitians to create resources, conduct literature searches, undertake audits, input detailed information into databases, produce reports, and liaise with other health‑care workers to set up training and products needed to support home enteral feeding.
  • Measure height and weight for children attending clinics, undertake patient/carer experience surveys, extract information from electronic medical records, and maintain stocks of nutritional products.
  • Support the special feeds unit in preparing modified feeds.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Computer literate and able to create and manipulate databases and spreadsheets independently.
  • Previous experience of working in the NHS is desirable.
  • Must have experience of working with children.
