Band 7 Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapist – Paediatric Dysphagia & Neonates

Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, covering North Manchester General LNU
This is an opportunity to develop your expertise in an acute hospital setting, working with neonates and paediatric patients with feeding and communication difficulties.
Main duties- Assess and manage children with dysphagia, feeding difficulties, tracheostomy, metabolic and rare congenital conditions, in both neonatal and paediatric units.
- Provide evidence-based SLT interventions for infants and children, including those with special needs.
- Conduct videofluoroscopy assessments and interpret and communicate results to the multidisciplinary team.
- Support and supervise junior staff and provide clinical leadership.
- Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care.
- Accredited degree or Certificate to Practice (SLT).
- Completion of highly specialist accredited courses in dysphagia management and neonates.
- Registered with HCPC.
- Comprehensive applied theoretical knowledge of assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute dysphagia and neonates.
- Experience providing SLT interventions for feeding infants and children.
- Proficient in use of videofluoroscopy for paediatric dysphagia.
- Excellent communication of assessment results and treatment plans to professionals.
- Significant experience in an acute hospital setting with children having feeding/swall‑ing problems and speech/language impairment.
- Specialist level experience in paediatric dysphagia and neonates.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in line management or clinical supervision of less experienced staff.
- Strong leadership experience and ability.

Salary£47,810 to £54,710 per annum (pro rata).
