An opportunity has arisen for a band 5 Anaesthetics support (ODP) or a nurse with the correct anesthetic qualification.

We are currently seeking both newly qualified and experienced Anaesthetic practitioners (ODPs and Anaesthetic Nurses) to become part of a team working in our 18‑suite theatre complex, which delivers a wide range of elective and emergency surgery, including Cardiac, Vascular, HPB, General surgery, Head and Neck (ENT, Maxillofacial), Urology, Orthopedic, Renal and Transplant.

All applicants must have a relevant Anaesthetic qualification.

MRI is the Major Adult Trauma Centre for Greater Manchester; we have recently completed our onsite helipad to improve access to the North West and are regenerating our emergency department and expanding our main theatre complex to include new state‑of‑the‑art operating theatres.

This post covers a 24‑hour, 7‑day‑a‑week service, so you will be expected to work days, nights, weekends and on‑call duties.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will primarily work within Manchester Royal Infirmary Theatres, with occasional requirements to work in other trust hospitals’ theatres. The role involves ensuring immediate care to patients, prioritising, assessing, planning, evaluating and delivering all relevant aspects of care to a high standard. Delegated responsibility for the clinical team will be taken on a shift basis, leading the team and maintaining high quality standards of care.
