Responsibilities
- Undertake audiological assessment of children of all ages, including history taking, assessment of need, and discussion with patient and parent/carer as required.
- Undertake all routine and non-routine aspects of audiometric testing.
- Undertake hearing aid assessment, fitting, verification and ongoing support of children and their families, according to recommended procedures. (Band
6) - Undertake hearing aid validation using Real Ear Measurement systems, RECD, and free‑field testing as appropriate, acting appropriately on information obtained from insertion gain testing.
- Actively promote a patient‑focused and evidence‑based approach, applying such principles throughout the service.
- Liaison with external agencies (e.g. cochlear implant teams and social services) as appropriate.
We are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated audiologists to complement our friendly, hardworking team, providing the full range of community paediatric audiology services across Manchester.
- You must have a BSc in Audiology, or equivalent qualifications.
- Experience in a paediatric setting is essential.
- Wishing to take the next step in your career or experienced paediatric audiologists wishing to return to work after a career break would be particularly suited.
- Audiologists who have completed the STP Training will also be considered.
