Role Overview
As an HCPC registered Senior Specialist Occupational Therapist supporting Stroke patients at the Trafford Stroke Rehabilitation Unit you will work as part of the wider multidisciplinary team to support stroke patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals. The role requires a strong understanding and experience of managing visual and cognitive deficits following a stroke.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership to ensure OT provision aligns with the National Stroke Guideline and NICE Guidelines.
- Lead quality improvement projects and participate in research studies alongside a Consultant AHP in Stroke.
- Deliver supervision and education to registered and non‑registered staff, supporting holistic care.
- Coordinate and monitor caseload, manage complex rehabilitation interventions, and support discharge planning.
- Provide supervision, leadership and teaching to the OT team and non‑registered Band 3 and 4 staff.
The role requires working across 6 days with one Saturday every four weeks.
Required Qualifications and ExperienceHCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist, experience working with stroke patients at a senior level, strong leadership skills, flexibility and commitment to delivering high‑quality, patient‑focused care. Experience managing visual and cognitive deficits following a stroke is essential.
