Physiotherapist – Rotational

We have an exciting opportunity to join our highly acclaimed and well‑established Therapy Department at Salford Royal Hospital.

As a Band 5 Physiotherapist, you will play a vital role in delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care by assessing, planning and delivering tailored treatment programmes for patients with a wide range of complex needs.

You will join a supportive and dynamic Band 5 rotational workforce, gaining experience across a diverse range of clinical areas. Rotations take place every six months and include Respiratory, MSK, Community Rehabilitation, Falls, Home First, CSNRT, Orthopaedics, Major Trauma, Acute Care Medicine, Neurosurgery, Stroke and Urgent Care.

Key responsibilities
  • Participate in the rotational scheme at Salford care organisation, completing rotations across acute and community settings.
  • Work as an autonomous practitioner within your scope of practice and in accordance with your job plan.
  • Take responsibility for continuing professional development, actively participating in supervision, peer support and training programmes.
  • Manage a caseload including prioritisation and delegation of work to therapy assistants, perform patient assessments and make clinical judgements of the patient's needs.
  • Develop, implement, evaluate and modify patient treatment programmes, ensuring relevant pathways of care are followed in partnership with the multi‑disciplinary team and onward referral to other agencies as appropriate.
  • Be able to travel across the footprint of Salford whilst on community rotations.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in compliance with Trust policies, statutory, Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and HCPC standards and codes of professional conduct.

Open qualifications & registration
  • Member of HCPC.
  • BSC/MSc Physiotherapy.
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
Experience, knowledge and skills
  • Broad experience at undergraduate or postgraduate level managing respiratory, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including difficult conversations and conflict resolution.
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Evidence of CPD and its application in practice.
  • Understanding of professional standards and code of conduct.
  • Awareness of equality and diversity within a clinical role.
  • Evidence of clinical reasoning across respiratory, neurological, musculoskeletal and discharge planning.
  • Ability to prioritise and discharge patients timely.
  • Ability to travel across the Trust footprint as required.
  • Understanding of governance and how it applies in practice.
  • Experience in both hospital and community NHS settings.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to use own car for work purposes.
