We are excited to invite applications for the role of Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner to join our dynamic and innovative team at Salford Neighbourhood Mental Health Team. As a community mental health service delivered in partnership with GMMH, Mind in Salford, Six Degrees, Wellbeing Matters, and START, we emphasise collaboration with service users and local communities.

We are seeking a qualified Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner. The post-holder will have completed a graduate certificate or postgraduate certificate training delivering the national curriculum for Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioners.

The successful candidate will collaborate with a diverse range of psychological practitioners, including a principal clinical psychologist, psychodynamic therapists, a trainee CAT therapist, CBT therapist, and CERN practitioner. Our broader team includes professionals from various backgrounds such as recovery workers, peer support workers (experts by experience), occupational therapists, social workers, nurses, pharmacists, doctors, and psychiatrists. Together, we aim to provide holistic support with a strong focus on both psychological and social wellbeing.

At Salford Neighbourhood Mental Health Team, co-production and trauma-informed practices are at the core of everything we do.

Main duties of the job

Job Outline:

The role will include 2 key functions:

  • To work alongside service users, families, carers and multi-disciplinary team members to co-ordinate care, supporting collaborative decision-making about care and treatment.
  • To deliver a set of wellbeing-focused psychologically-informed interventions, these will include but are not limited too cognitive-behavioural principles, based on the best evidence available, that address problems often experienced by people with severe mental health problems.

Scope & Authority
:

The post holder will work under close case management supervision from a suitably qualified professional to provide high quality collaborative care planning as a member of the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will work under close clinical skills supervision from an HCPC registered clinical psychologist or BABCP accredited cognitive behavioural therapist to provide specified psychologically-informed interventions, with a level of autonomy matched to level of demonstrated competence.
