We’re looking for a Theatre Practitioner to join our Theatre department at The Christie Private Care, currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC. As a Theatre Practitioner in Anaesthetics and Recovery, you’ll be part of a team that supports patients through every stage of their perioperative journey, helping to ensure safe, seamless and high quality care. Working across a range of surgical specialities, including complex cases, you’ll use your expertise to prepare patients for anaesthesia, support the anaesthetist during procedures and deliver safe recovery care following surgery.

This varied role offers the opportunity to broaden your clinical experience, strengthen your specialist skills and work alongside highly experienced multidisciplinary colleagues who are committed to continuous improvement and outstanding patient outcomes. This role is best suited to someone who lives within a commutable distance of the hospital, is able to start shifts at 7.30am and can commit to working two Saturdays each month.

• Deliver consistently high standards of patient care using evidence based practice
• Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate all aspects of patient care throughout the perioperative journey
• Prepare patients for anaesthesia and provide skilled assistance to the anaesthetist
• Deliver safe and effective post anaesthetic care within the recovery setting
• Work collaboratively across the theatre suite, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues

• Operating Department Practitioner qualification or Registered Nurse qualification
• Current HCPC or NMC registration
• Post registration experience within a theatre environment
• Proven experience in anaesthetics and recovery
• Completion of a postgraduate anaesthetics course (for nurses)
