SALARY: £13.79 to £14.07 per Hour, depending on skills and qualifications (pay review pending) + Benefits

Services operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with a variety of shift patterns, including shifts of up to 13 hours, alternate weekends, some Bank Holiday working and sleep-in duties

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Senior Support Worker who is ready to take the next step into a leadership role while continuing to provide hands‑on, person‑centred support.

Working as the Senior Support Worker you will support adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs to live fulfilling, independent lives within their own homes.

As the Senior Support Worker you will lead shifts, mentor colleagues, support operational decisions and help ensure high‑quality care is delivered across the service.

DUTIES
  • Lead

    Shifts:

    Ensure high standards of care are maintained across each shift
  • Provide Person-Centred Support:
    Support adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs to live fulfilling and independent lives
  • Encourage Independence:
    Help individuals make choices, develop life skills and achieve personal goals
  • Promote Positive Behaviour Support:
    Support person-centred practice and positive approaches across the service
  • Mentor Colleagues:
    Coach and support team members, helping them develop skills and confidence
  • Complete Supervisions:
    Carry out staff supervisions and contribute to day‑to‑day team development
  • Support Service Planning:
    Assist with rotas, shift planning and the smooth running of the service
  • Follow Care Procedures:
    Ensure support plans, medication procedures, policies and risk assessments are followed
  • Maintain Accurate Records:
    Complete daily records and documentation clearly and accurately
  • Support Quality Improvement:
    Work with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager to help improve service quality
  • Build Positive Relationships:
    Liaise with families, professionals and external agencies
  • Champion Inclusion:
    Help create a culture where kindness, respect, teamwork and inclusion are central to the service
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL
  • Previous experience supporting adults in a social care setting
  • A genuine commitment to person-centred support
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
  • Calm, approachable and confident when working under pressure
  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Able to work flexibly, including alternate weekends, some Bank Holidays, sleep‑in duties and shifts of up to 13 hours
DESIRABLE
  • Experience supporting people with learning disabilities and / or autism
  • Experience leading shifts, supervising staff or working as a Senior Support Worker or Team Leader
  • Level 3 RQF / Diploma in Health & Social Care, Adult Care or equivalent, or willingness to work towards one
