Orthopaedic Trauma Admin Support

An exciting opportunity to join the Trauma Admin Team within the Trauma & Orthopaedic Directorate. The role involves working alongside the Trauma Orthopaedic Nurse Coordinators and medical team to ensure all patients are appropriately booked for theatre, appointments and communicated with. The successful applicant will attend daily meetings, liaise with patients face to face and over telephone and utilise clinical systems daily.,

• Establish and maintain effective communication with patient/carers and families about complex matters providing a warm welcoming and enabling environment to support therapeutic relationships.
• Attend daily trauma meetings.
• Book all trauma patients on to theatre man.
• Organise New and Follow-up patient appointments into specialist fracture clinics.
• Organise beds on wards, critical care, and Day surgery unit.
• Liaise with theatre staff to ensure all kit and equipment is available for surgery.
• Provide advice and information to patients regarding the date and time of their surgery, organising transport and interpretation services as required.
• Liaise with all members of the trauma multidisciplinary team and work closely with the band 6 Trauma Coordinators and trauma Consultant team of the week to ensure Trauma lists are well utilised and clinical priorities of patients met.
• You will audit cancellations, breaches, readmissions, and outlier discharges, as well as a range of other general administrative duties.
• Maintain and support the efficient use of physical and /or financial resources.
• Ability to work flexibly and unsocial hours to meet the demands of the service.
