Adecco Manchester is partnering with a global fintech organisation to recruit an experienced Employee Relations Partner/Specialist, On an ongoing temporary contract
In this role, you will provide specialist Employee Relations expertise for the Netherlands, supporting People Managers, HR Business Partners, and Legal Counsel on complex ER matters-particularly those involving restructuring, redundancies, union/works council consultations, and Dutch employment law. You will act as a trusted advisor, ensuring that all cases are handled fairly, consistently, and in compliance with Dutch legislation and internal policies.
This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role suited to someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, international environment and is confident managing sensitive and multifaceted ER issues from end to end.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert advice on Dutch employment law and ER matters, including restructures, redundancies, works council engagement, disciplinary issues, grievances, and performance concerns.
Manage complex and sensitive ER cases from initiation to resolution within the Netherlands market.
Lead and support investigations, producing clear, robust reports and recommendations.
Partner closely with HR, Legal, and senior stakeholders to ensure all ER activity is compliant with Dutch legislation (including WOR, WAB, and Dutch dismissal processes).
Support organisational change programmes, including collective and individual consultations, role eliminations, and TUPE‑related activities (where applicable).
Collaborate with unions and works councils, preparing documentation, attending meetings, and guiding managers through statutory requirements.
Analyse ER data and trends, identifying risks and recommending preventative or corrective actions.
Contribute to the development and refinement of ER policies, processes, and best‑practice frameworks across EMEA, with a particular focus on the Netherlands.
Coach and develop People Managers to raise ER capability and ensure consistent application of Dutch HR and ER standards.
What We're Looking For
Extensive hands‑on Employee Relations experience, specifically within the Netherlands.
Strong knowledge of Dutch employment law, including redundancy frameworks, works councils (WOR), collective consultation processes, and dispute resolution.
Demonstrable experience managing complex ER cases, restructures, investigations, and performance matters.
Confident stakeholder partner with exceptional communication and influencing skills.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret ER data and identify trends or risks.
Experience working in a fast‑paced, matrixed, and international environment.
Collaborative, pragmatic, and solutions‑focused, with sound judgement and discretion.
