Senior Recruitment Consultant / Team Leader
Manchester City Centre
Hybrid Working – Wednesdays from Home
Would you like to join a successful boutique recruitment business where you’ll have a genuine voice, plenty of autonomy and the opportunity to become a key part of its next stage of growth?
We’re working with a specialist recruitment agency based in Manchester city centre that focuses exclusively on IT, technology and business change roles within the higher education sector.
The business is performing incredibly well and is now looking for an experienced recruiter to add another level of seniority to its close-knit team. This could suit an established Senior Recruitment Consultant looking for greater responsibility, or an experienced billing Team Leader who still enjoys being hands-on.
The opportunityYou’ll be joining a team of around seven consultants, working across both contract and permanent recruitment. Contract currently makes up approximately 75% of the business, although there is a particular opportunity for someone who can help develop and grow the permanent side.
This is a specialist, relationship-led market with excellent fees and senior-level salaries. It isn’t a fast-paced, high-volume environment where success is measured by making several placements every month. Consultants are trusted to build genuine relationships, understand their market and focus on quality.
Depending on your experience, there may also be the opportunity to support and mentor some of the more junior consultants, working closely with the Director and Office Manager as the business continues to grow.
- Basic salary from around £30,000 for a Senior Consultant and up to £50,000 for an experienced Team Leader
- Uncapped commission
- Established specialist market with excellent fees
- Opportunity to grow the permanent offering
- Thorough training from an experienced in-house trainer who is in the office three days a week
- Supportive, approachable Director and an exceptional Office Manager
- Friendly, collaborative team who genuinely share ideas and celebrate one another’s success
- Holiday incentives and team rewards
- Manchester city-centre office in a brilliant location
- Hybrid working, with Wednesdays from home
- Boutique, family-feel culture with the structure and professionalism of a larger recruitment business
You’ll ideally have between one and five years’ recruitment experience, although your attitude, relationship-building ability and approach will matter just as much as the number of years on your CV.
Experience with in higher education, technology or business change would be useful but isn’t essential. The Director herself moved into the sector from a different recruitment background, so applications are welcomed from other professional recruitment markets.
This would particularly suit someone who enjoys a more consultative and strategic style of recruitment and wants to work within a specialist market where quality is valued over volume.
The interview process will include an initial Teams conversation, followed by an informal coffee meeting and the opportunity to meet the wider team in the Manchester office.
