HR Manager, Manchester City Centre

£40,000 - £45,000 + DOE

Monday – Friday – our client is open to full and part time working weeks (min 3 full days p/wk).

This is a standalone role, highly regarded within the business, reporting directly to and working closely alongside MD level. It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, taking ownership, and being trusted to get on with the job. Responsibilities as a HR Manager
  • Provide professional and practical HR advice to managers and employees.
  • Manage employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability and performance cases.
  • Draft, review and maintain HR policies, contracts, procedures and the Company Handbook.
  • Keep up to date with UK employment law and ensure HR processes remain compliant.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, probation, performance management, family leave and leaver processes.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR systems.
  • Support payroll changes, right-to-work checks, training records and HR reporting.
  • Work with senior management on workforce planning and people-related decisions.
  • Support employee engagement, wellbeing, learning and development initiatives.
  • Manage, train and develop the HR Apprentice, providing regular coaching and guidance.
Essentials as a HR Manager
  • CIPD Level 5 or above essential.
  • Minimum 3-4 years proven experience in a HR Management or similar generalist HR role.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law, practical HR processes, GDPR, equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Full confidence in independently managing employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and capability matters.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and attention to detail.
  • High levels of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality.
  • Must be computer savvy, with strong knowledge of HR systems, payroll processes and people reporting.
