Job description:

Role Purpose

The SAP Platform Specialist serves as the technical authority for our SAP landscape—ensuring stability, performance, security and compliance across all SAP platforms. This role blends hands-on SAP Basis and Security expertise with oversight of internal teams and external managed service partners, helping to deliver a future-ready SAP environment that supports our transformation agenda, including RISE with SAP and S/4

HANA preparation.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead SAP Basis and platform administration across development, test and production landscapes (ECC/S4, BW/4
  
  HANA, Fiori, HANA, PO/Integration Suite, BTP).
• Deliver performance optimisation, patching, upgrades, system refreshes, transport management and troubleshooting.
• Operate and govern SAP security, role design, IAM integrations and user lifecycle management.
• Partner closely with Internal Controls, Risk and Compliance teams to drive access governance and SoD activities.
• Work alongside Service Operations and external hosting partners to ensure reliable BAU operations, monitoring and service quality.
• Maintain SAP technical control activities including privileged access monitoring, backup/DR validation and change governance.
• Use SAP for Me for system visibility, licensing oversight, contract tracking and support case management.
• Support SAP roadmap planning, licensing optimisation and technology lifecycle decisions.
• Contribute to major SAP programmes including RISE with SAP and future S/4
  
  HANA migration.
• Identify opportunities for automation, innovation and continuous improvement across Basis and Security operations.

What we need from you

• Strong SAP Basis and Security experience with hands-on HANA and Linux administration.
• Deep knowledge of SAP security, authorisation models, access governance and GRC principles.
• Experience with SAP licensing concepts and use of SAP for Me.
• Familiarity with SAP’s technology roadmap (S/4
  
  HANA, BTP, cloud models).
• Experience managing third-party hosting and managed service partners.
• Strong analytical, documentation and communication skills.
• Experience with Solution Manager, Cloud ALM, Open Text Archiving, BTP or Tricentis is beneficial.
