Purpose of the RoleLead Ofcom’s cross‑organisational AI Enablement Programme, delivering AI ambitions through effective programme leadership, strong governance, and the safe, practical adoption of AI across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the AI Enablement Programme within the Transformation Portfolio, establishing and delivering a portfolio of projects aligned to AI ambitions.
- Apply best‑practice programme and project management, developing end‑to‑end plans across work streams.
- Manage governance forums (including the AI Steering Group), risks, issues and dependencies, and provide structured reporting and oversight across DDAI and Transformation teams.
- Shape and deliver an AI strategy aligned to Data and IT strategies; define and lead the roadmap for secure, ethical adoption of AI tools (including Microsoft Copilot).
- Establish and embed governance frameworks, policies, standards and guidance for AI, working closely with Legal, Information Security and Data Protection teams.
- Lead the rollout and adoption of Microsoft Copilot and related tools, support the evaluation and adoption of additional AI tools, and partner with Digital, Data and Technology teams on governance and approvals.
- Build organisational AI capability, working with L&D to develop AI literacy and training.
- Engage internal and external partners as required and represent Ofcom in cross‑regulatory forums.
- Significant experience leading AI or digital transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrable understanding of AI technologies (including Microsoft Copilot) and experience developing strategy, governance frameworks and applying responsible AI principles.
- Proven project management expertise and ability to shape projects and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
- Experience managing cross‑function teams and influencing stakeholders.
- Adaptability to change and a strong drive for innovation.
