About youYou enjoy helping people and take pride in fixing problems quickly and clearly. You like being on site, meeting customers face to face, and being the person they trust when something is not working as it should. You’re comfortable working across different locations and environments, and you stay calm when priorities change. At Access, we’ll support you to grow your skills while you help our customers get more from their technology.
The role is based on client sites in Manchester.
- Provide on‑site technical support through our helpdesk system, helping resolve issues with hardware, software and operating systems while meeting agreed service levels.
- Install, support and upgrade IT equipment such as laptops, desktops, printers, network connections and communication systems across customer sites.
- Look after IT assets, including devices and software licences, keeping records accurate and up to date.
- Communicate clearly with customers and colleagues, sharing updates, guidance and basic training so people feel confident using their technology.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems, including Windows 10 and Windows 11.
- A working understanding of networking basics, such as TCP/IP, and user management using Active Directory.
- Experience using Microsoft 365 tools and some exposure to Power Shell scripting for simple automation tasks.
- A practical, customer‑first approach to problem solving, with the confidence to explain technical issues.
