Platform Engineer

Hays are now looking for a Platform Engineer on a 12 month contract. The role is focused on engineering, database development, automation, integration, Dev Ops, and platform development.

£430 p/d Inside IR35 - 12 Months
2 days p/w in the office, 3 days WFH
Location is Manchester
Must have C#, MS SQL, Power Shell, API's, Kafka
Join a high-performing engineering team responsible for delivering critical cyber and infrastructure solutions across the organisation. You'll play a key role in designing, developing and automating scalable platforms, working across databases, APIs, integration technologies and Dev Ops tooling to enhance and support enterprise-level services.

What you'll be doing

Designing, developing and enhancing enterprise applications and platform solutions using C# and .NET technologies.
Building and supporting RESTful APIs, integrations and automation capabilities using Power Shell and JSON-based interfaces.
Developing and optimising SQL Server-based solutions, with exposure to MongoDB beneficial.
Implementing and supporting event-driven integrations using Kafka.
Automating deployment and operational processes using Ansible, Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
Collaborating with engineers, architects and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable and resilient solutions.
Producing and maintaining technical documentation, ensuring adherence to governance, security and change control standards.
Leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering efficiency and delivery. What we're looking for

Strong commercial experience developing solutions with C# and Web APIs.
Proven expertise with SQL Server and database-driven application development.

Experience with Power Shell scripting, automation and Dev Ops practices.
Knowledge of Kafka, Ansible and modern CI/CD tool chains.
Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and software development lifecycle best practices.
Understanding of software design principles, data structures, algorithms and coding standards.
