IT Support Engineer- 1st​/2nd Line

My Client In Manchester is looking for a 1st/2nd Line Support Engineer. You’ll be hands‑on with the day to day running and maintenance of systems, and the focal point for our users for whatever problems they may have.

Working independently, you’ll be a skilled problem solver, troubleshooting a variety of technical challenges, assisting with cyber‑security initiatives, and taking a positive, proactive approach to your work.

• Desktop maintenance (mostly Windows 10, with some Apple and Android devices)
• Supporting the infrastructure team with software roll‑outs and patches
• Label and industrial Printer maintenance
• In‑house custom application support (training provided)
• Active Directory User management
• Help maintaining enterprise anti‑virus solutions
• Hardware and Software installation / fault finding
• Creating and updating in‑house documentation for the IT service desk

• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Great communication skills (in person and via telephone) and written / spoken English
• Personable, with the ability to build rapport with team members and other departments
• Experience of Windows 10 administration
• Hardware and software fault finding with thorough root cause analysis
• Translate users’ problems into actionable requests and successful resolutions
• PC hardware installation and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of enterprise level anti‑virus solutions
• Mobile device management including iOS and Android devices
• Helpdesk ticketing systems (we use Jira Service Desk)

• Utilization of GPOs
• Administration of BT phone systems
• Experience with PDQ Deploy/Inventory
• Exposure to Forescout or other NAC systems
• Cisco networking and Wi‑Fi controllers
• Beyond Trust user administration
• An interest in cyber‑security systems

Training in the above areas will be provided if necessary.
