Principal Platform Engineer
All candidates to be willing and eligible to hold SC and eDV clearance.
Work as a Principal Platform Engineer, deploying applications and software to cloud or on-prem environments for our many business areas.
Role & Responsibilities- Building and setting up development tools and infrastructure
- Understand the needs of project stakeholders
- Automate and improve development and release processes
- Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cyber security threats
- Identify technical problems and develop software updates and solutions
- Work with other engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
- Experience of working in an Agile/SCRUM/Dev Ops delivery model
- Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure)
- Infrastructure as code e.g. Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible etc.
- Experience in building and deploying large-scale applications
- Continuous Integration/Delivery pipelines
- Container platform and orchestration systems (ECS, AKS, Kubernetes/helm/Docker)
- Experience in automation and integration tools such as Jenkins, Concourse CI or cloud equivalents
- Experience in scripting languages and source control
- Competitive salary
