Job Description & How to Apply Below

Company Overview

Our client is a leading technology and defence organisation delivering advanced security capabilities across some of the UK's most complex and mission-critical environments. Their specialist cyber teams are expanding and are seeking experienced Vulnerability Researchers to support cutting-edge research, reverse engineering and vulnerability discovery activities.

Role Overview

This is an opportunity to join a highly technical team focused on understanding how software and systems operate at a low level, identifying vulnerabilities and contributing to advanced security research.

You’ll work alongside experts in vulnerability research, reverse engineering and high-assurance development, analysing applications, software and platforms to uncover security weaknesses and improve resilience against real-world threats.

The role would suit individuals who enjoy breaking software rather than building it, with many successful candidates coming from backgrounds in penetration testing, red teaming, exploit development, malware analysis or security research.

You’ll be responsible for investigating complex technical challenges, conducting detailed analysis and presenting findings to technical stakeholders, contributing directly to the development of secure systems and capabilities.

What They’re Looking For
  • Experience in Vulnerability Research, Security Research, Penetration Testing, Red Teaming or Reverse Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of how software and systems operate at a low level.
  • Experience identifying and analysing vulnerabilities within applications, software or embedded systems.
  • Knowledge of reverse engineering and binary analysis techniques.
  • Experience with tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, Binary Ninja, Burp Suite or similar.
  • Understanding of operating systems, networking concepts and security principles.
  • Programming or scripting experience in languages such as C, C++, Python or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a genuine research mindset.
  • Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

This is an excellent opportunity for security professionals looking to move deeper into research-focused work, joining a team that tackles some of the most challenging vulnerability research problems in the UK.
