Wereworkingwithagrowingspecialistnetworkandconnectivitybusinessthatdesigns,buildsandsupportscomplexnetworkenvironmentsforlargeorganisationsacrosstheUK.Duetocontinuedgrowth,theyrelookingtoadda

Youlltakeprojectsfrominitialcustomerrequirementsandsolutiondesignthroughtoimplementation,documentationandongoingtechnicalownership. Youllworkcloselywithcustomersandthecommercialteamatthepre-salesstage,gathering requirements,designingsolutionsandpresentingthosebacktothecustomerbeforetakingthetechnicalleadthroughdelivery. Itsagenuinelyhands-onconsultancyposition,butonewhereyoullhavemuchmoreownershiparoundarchitecture,customerstrategyandtechnicaldirection. Theresastronginvestmentintechnicaldevelopmenttoo,withrelevantprofessionalqualificationsandcertificationsfundedaspartoftherole. Daytoday Youllbedesigning,implementingandsupportingnetworksecuritysolutionsacrosscomplexcustomerenvironments. Thatwillincludeenterprisefirewalls,LAN/WAN,VPNs,SD-WAN,ZTNA,SASE,authenticationandwidernetworksecuritytechnologies,alongsidemaintainingastrongunderstandingofrouting,switchingandnetworkingfundamentals. Youllleadtechnicalprojectsthroughouttheirlifecycle,producingdetaileddesignsandimplementationplansbeforetakingresponsibilityforsuccessfuldelivery. Theresalsoanincreasingfocusonmodernsecurityoperations,soexposuretoareassuchasSIEM,SOARandXDRwouldbeuseful. Beyondprojectdelivery,youllactasaseniortechnicalescalationpoint,carryoutcustomersecurityauditsandhealthchecks,makerecommendationsaroundimprovingexistingenvironmentsandprovideongoingtechnicalownershipfornominatedcustomers. Youllalsohelpdevelopotherengineerswithintheteamthroughtechnicalmentoring,knowledgesharingandinternaltraining. Theenvironmentsarebusiness-critical,sothereisanout-of-hours/on-callelementtotherolealongsideoccasionalplannedmaintenance. Theimportantthingisthatyouvemovedbeyondsimplysupportingnetworkenvironments.
Youllhaveexperiencedesigningsolutions,leadingimplementationsandtakingtechnicalownershipofcustomerprojects. Werelookingforstrongnetworkingfundamentalsalongsidedetailedexperienceacrossenterprisefirewalls,LAN/WAN,VPN,SD-WANandmodernnetworksecurityarchitecture. ExperiencewithinanMSP,ISP,networkintegratororconsultancywouldtranslateparticularlywell,particularlyifyoureusedtoworkingacrossmultiplecustomersandcomplexenvironments. Youllneedtobecomfortablegatheringrequirements,producingtechnicaldesigns,presentingsolutionstocustomersandthenremaininginvolvedthroughimplementationandongoingsupport. Experiencearoundsecuritycomplianceframeworksandpublic-sectorenvironmentswouldbeuseful,aswouldexposuretoSIEM,SOAR,XDRandinfrastructureautomation. Morethananything,theywantsomebodywhocantaketechnicalownership.
Someonewhocangetintothedetailwhenneeded,communicateconfidentlywithcustomersandbethepersonotherengineersturntowhenthingsgetcomplicated.
