IT Project Manager, Business Systems & Technology Analysis
Ryft is an FCA-authorised payment institution and PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment facilitator, building payment infrastructure for platforms and marketplaces. We're a fast-growing fintech, having recently closed our Series B, and we're scaling our engineering function at pace.
About the Role
We're looking for a Project Manager to work closely with our software teams, helping plan and deliver the projects that make up our product and engineering roadmap. You'll work with engineering leads and other stakeholders to keep projects moving, manage dependencies, and make sure everyone involved knows what's happening and when. You won't be writing code, but you'll need to be comfortable working alongside developers and understanding how software projects actually get built.
This is a hands-on role. You'll be scoping projects, tracking progress, chasing dependencies, and reporting status in a way both technical and non-technical stakeholders trust.
What You'll Do
- Plan and track delivery of software projects, from scoping through to launch.
- Work with engineering leads and other stakeholders to keep dependencies visible and work moving.
- Support planning cycles and delivery cadences alongside the software teams you work with.
- Maintain risk and issue logs, escalating early rather than at the last minute.
- Run consistent, lightweight status reporting so both technical teams and leadership know where things stand.
- Manage change control when scope, timeline, or resourcing shifts.
- Drive projects to a defined outcome and capture lessons learned at close.
What We're Looking For
- 3-5 years' experience managing projects involving software teams, ideally in a fast-paced product environment.
- Comfortable working with developers day-to-day and picking up technical concepts without needing to be hands-on technical yourself.
- Familiarity with common project and delivery tools (e.g. Jira, Linear, or similar).
- Strong organisational skills. You bring structure to ambiguity rather than waiting for it to be handed to you.
- Clear, direct communicator who can translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in fintech, payments, or a regulated industry is a plus but not essential.
- A bias towards getting things done over process for its own sake.
Why Ryft
- Join a scaling fintech at an exciting stage, post-Series B, with real ownership over how projects get delivered.
- Work directly with engineering leadership and founders on roadmap and delivery decisions.
- Hybrid working from our Manchester office.
