Data Analyst

As Data Analyst, you build and operate production-grade reporting and analytics that convert business demand into measurable commercial value. You translate requirements into scalable Power BI and data solutions that improve decision quality, reduce manual effort and shorten time-to-insight.

You sit at the intersection of delivery and business-as-usual: you keep day-to-day reporting reliable and trusted while building forward-looking capability, including predictive and AI-assisted analytics that improve business performance over time.

As the senior developer in the team, you set technical standards, take on the most complex and high-visibility builds, and mentor other developers - raising the quality and consistency of analytics delivery across the team.

Role Overview
  • Delivery. Build and deploy analytics products from prototype to production, aligned to business priorities and value.
  • Data engineering. Develop scalable pipelines and models that reduce manual intervention and support consistent, trusted reporting.
  • Reporting product build. Create reusable, well-modelled datasets and dashboards that avoid duplication and reduce the cost of change.
  • Stakeholder engagement. Define requirements in terms of business outcomes so outputs answer real commercial questions.
  • Adoption. Drive uptake so products are actively used in decisions, reducing offline analysis and tactical reporting.
  • BAU and reliability. Keep day-to-day reporting accurate, performant and trusted.
  • Continuous improvement. Improve delivery speed through automation, standardisation and strong Dev Ops practice.
  • Forward-looking analytics. Develop capability beyond reporting into predictive and AI-assisted analytics (forecasting, scoring, decision support).
  • Technical leadership. Set BI development standards and mentor junior developers.
Knowledge and Skills
  • A BSc or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics or a related discipline, or relevant professional experience.
  • CII qualification or working towards one (desirable)
Essential skills & experience
  • Strong communication skills, able to translate technical concepts into clear business insight.
  • Proven experience delivering data and analytics solutions in agile environments, with senior-level autonomy on complex builds.
  • Advanced Power BI capability (semantic modelling, DAX, dataflows) and data-visualisation expertise.
  • Strong SQL and data modelling skills, building scalable and performant solutions.
  • Experience with modern data platforms (Databricks lakehouse, Azure cloud data ecosystem).
  • Ability to build trusted, well-governed datasets with strong data-quality and validation practices.
  • Proactive delivery mindset, managing priorities, dependencies and stakeholder expectations effectively.
  • Understanding of analytics beyond reporting, including predictive analytics, statistical modelling or machine-learning concepts.
  • Insurance or financial services experience (CII or working towards, desirable).

If you are excited about this role but your experience does not align perfectly with everything outlined, or you don't meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply anyway. You might just be the candidate we are looking for!
