Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Service Now Solution / Platform Architect to lead a strategic data architecture engagement within one of the UK's most high-profile public sector organisations.

This role is focused on transforming the Service Now platform into a trusted enterprise service management capability by establishing a robust data architecture, strengthening CMDB and CSDM maturity, and enabling future platform capabilities including AI, automation, Identity and Access Management, IT Asset Management and Enterprise Service Management.

Working alongside business stakeholders, process owners, as part of the established UK Service Now team, you will define the architectural direction that underpins the organisation's long-term Service Now roadmap.

This is an opportunity to influence a large-scale Service Now transformation where the quality of data architecture will directly determine the success of future platform investments.

• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of digital commerce and experience projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
• Oversee technical architecture aspects of projects, collaborating closely with architects and technical leads to ensure robust, scalable, and secure solutions.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and issues, implementing appropriate mitigation and contingency plans.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, architects, developers, testers, and operations to achieve project outcomes.
• Ensure architectural standards, best practices, and governance are followed across all project deliverables.
• Drive requirements gathering and translate business needs into clear technical and architectural specifications.
• Monitor project progress, prepare status reports, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Facilitate decision-making on architectural trade-offs, dependencies, and integration with existing systems.
• Support solution design reviews, technical walkthroughs, and quality assurance activities to maintain high delivery standards.
• Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and data protection requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage vendor and third‑party engagements related to digital commerce platforms and technical solutions.
• Promote continuous improvement in project management and architectural practices, tools, and methodologies.

• Strong understanding of digital commerce platforms, customer experience solutions, and related integration patterns.
• Ability to bridge business and technology, communicating complex architectural concepts in clear, non‑technical language when required.
• Proven leadership skills in guiding multidisciplinary teams and fostering a collaborative working environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on delivering practical, high‑quality solutions.
• Adaptability to work in dynamic environments, managing multiple priorities and changing requirements.
• Stakeholder management and negotiation skills to align expectations and resolve conflicts constructively.

• Significant experienced delivering enterprise‑scale Service Now architecture
• Proven CMDB transformation and implementation experience
• Proven CSDM transformation and implementation experience
• Experience designing Service Now data architecture
• Experience leading consultations on Service Now platforms
• Public sector or highly regulated industry experience
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• Experience developing governance frameworks
• Service Now Certified Technical Architect

• Service Now Certified Master Architect
• Certified Implementation Specialist qualifications
• Aligned to The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF)
