3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer - Sharepoint SME
Onsite in Manchester (7am-7pm shift coverage within a secure room environment)
£490 per day inside ir35

We are looking for an experienced 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer / SharePoint SME to join a large-scale enterprise environment in Manchester.
This is a hands‑on technical role supporting and evolving a complex SharePoint estate across on‑premises and Microsoft 365, with a particular focus on SharePoint administration, troubleshooting and platform upgrades.
The RoleYou will act as a 3rd line technical escalation point, resolving complex SharePoint issues while supporting the ongoing development, performance and reliability of the platform.
A key part of the role will be supporting and leading SharePoint 2019 to SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE) upgrades, alongside the administration and support of SharePoint Online within Microsoft 365.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 3rd line support and technical escalation for complex SharePoint issues
- Lead and support SharePoint 2019 to Subscription Edition (SE) upgrades
- Administer and maintain SharePoint Server environments
- Support SharePoint Online / Microsoft 365
- Troubleshoot platform, configuration and performance issues
- Maintain SharePoint platform security, availability and reliability
- Support platform improvements, upgrades and technical changes
- Work closely with wider infrastructure and Microsoft 365 teams
- Strong hands‑on experience with SharePoint Server 2019
- Experience with SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE)
- Strong experience supporting SharePoint Online / Microsoft 365
- Proven 3rd line infrastructure / technical support experience
- Experience with SharePoint upgrades, migrations and administration
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience across the wider Microsoft technology stack would be advantageous, including:
- Microsoft 365
- One Drive
- Microsoft Teams
- Exchange Online
- Power Automate
- Power Apps
- Microsoft Copilot / AI capabilities
- SharePoint development and automation
- Relevant Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, AZ-204, PL-400 or AI-900 would also be beneficial.
