Underwriter
As the role of an Underwriter evolves, you may be feeling that the lack of innovation in your current role is holding you back?
Or perhaps you’ve embraced technology in your role but want to be a part of an organisation where technology is within its DNA?
Worth reading below if so...
We are working with a growing MGA, backed by a leading, global specialty player, that is looking to hire an E-Trade Underwriter into its Manchester team.
This is a business that's invested heavily in technology without losing what makes underwriting enjoyable, trading with brokers, making decisions and writing profitable business.
You'll handle a varied portfolio of SME commercial PI risks, managing referrals, underwriting new business and renewals, whilst working closely with brokers to find solutions rather than simply decline business.
- Join one of the UK's fastest-growing specialist MGAs
- Backed by the strength and stability of global powerhouse
- Modern e-trading platform with genuine underwriting authority
- Collaborative, non-hierarchical culture where decisions happen quickly
- Clear career progression as the business continues to grow
- Manchester-based team with significant investment and expansion plans
- Underwriting new business and renewals
- Handling referrals from the online trading platform
- Trading with brokers to secure profitable business
- Building strong broker relationships across your region
- Supporting portfolio growth while maintaining underwriting discipline
You'll ideally have experience underwriting commercial insurance within an insurer or MGA environment, although we'll also consider strong Assistant Underwriters or Trading Underwriters ready to take the next step.
Most importantly, you'll enjoy building broker relationships, making commercial decisions and working in a fast‑paced environment where service genuinely matters.
