Monday to Friday: 08:30am – 17:00pm
Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 DOE

The Role

As a Credit Hire Claims Handler, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Credit Hire claims from inception through to settlement.

You will work closely with claimants, solicitors, accident management companies, insurers and other stakeholders to achieve cost-effective outcomes whilst maintaining excellent customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of Credit Hire claims through the full claims lifecycle.
  • Review liability and assess indemnity positions on all claims.
  • Investigate, negotiate and settle Credit Hire claims efficiently and proactively.
  • Liaise with solicitors, insurers, brokers and accident management companies.
  • Challenge hire periods, rates, need, impecuniosity and other areas of dispute where appropriate.
  • Review supporting documentation and evidence to validate claims.
  • Identify opportunities to mitigate claims costs and reduce overall indemnity spend.
  • Handle complex and disputed cases, escalating where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all claims are handled in line with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and refer potentially fraudulent or suspicious claims.
  • Deliver a professional and high-quality service to all parties involved.
About You
  • Previous experience handling Credit Hire claims is essential.
  • Strong understanding of Credit Hire principles and claims processes.
  • Experience dealing with liability disputes and settlement negotiations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy caseload.
  • Commercially minded with a proactive approach to cost control.
  • Experience working within insurance, claims, legal or accident management environments would be advantageous.
