Barker Munro Recruitment is working with a leading insurer expanding its Manchester branch. We’re seeking a Senior Property & Casualty Underwriter to drive new business growth across Mid‑Market and Mid‑Corporate risks.
You’ll play a key role in shaping the branch’s success—building broker relationships, leading large‑case management, and underwriting profitable new business while supporting and influencing the wider underwriting team.
Key Responsibilities- Represent the business on larger, complex Mid‑Market and Mid‑Corporate risks.
- Negotiate coverage, wordings and pricing alongside Trading Underwriters.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of quality new business opportunities.
- Lead the large‑case process and act as a referral point for the team.
- Develop strong broker relationships and deliver a clear distribution strategy.
- Knowledge of the Manchester insurance market.
- Confident decision‑making across varied technical scenarios.
