Clinical Negligence Solicitor
Manchester
Full-time, Permanent
We are partnering with a highly regarded law firm who are seeking an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join their established team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated specialist looking to handle quality, complex claimant clinical negligence matters within a supportive and progressive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a varied caseload of clinical negligence claims from instruction through to settlement or trial.
- Conduct detailed investigations, obtain medical records, instruct appropriate experts and assess liability.
- Draft and review legal documentation including Letters of Claim, witness statements, pleadings and schedules.
- Provide clear and empathetic guidance to clients, ensuring they are fully informed throughout the claims process.
- Negotiate settlements and engage in ADR where appropriate.
- Work closely with counsel, experts and internal colleagues to progress cases efficiently.
- Ensure all case management systems are accurately maintained, including deadlines, risk assessments and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to team development by sharing knowledge and supporting junior colleagues where needed.
- Stay up to date with developments in clinical negligence law and relevant case law.
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with proven experience in clinical negligence litigation.
- Strong technical knowledge of the clinical negligence claims process, liability assessments and relevant legislation.
- Demonstrable experience managing your own caseload with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex matters to clients with sensitivity and clarity.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience engaging with defendant representatives, experts and counsel.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a methodical approach to case preparation.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
