Position: Paralegal - Housing Disrepair

An established and forward-thinking law firm are looking for a Housing Disrepair Paralegal to join its growing litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated legal professional to develop their career within a supportive and reputable practice acting on behalf of tenants in housing disrepair matters.

The Role

You will manage a caseload of housing disrepair claims, assisting clients through all stages of the pre-action protocol and litigation process. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality legal services while ensuring compliance with procedural requirements and client care standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a caseload of housing disrepair files under supervision
  • Drafting letters of claim and other pre-action protocol documentation
  • Instructing experts and reviewing medical and surveyor reports
  • Preparing court documents and bundles
  • Liaising with clients, landlords, experts, and counsel
  • Negotiating settlements where appropriate
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant housing and litigation procedures
Requirements
  • Previous experience handling housing disrepair claims (essential)
  • Strong knowledge of the Pre-Action Protocol for Housing Conditions Claims
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload with minimal supervision
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • A genuine interest in housing law and tenant rights
