We’ll look to you to provide strategic legal advice on a range of matters involving HR, employee relations, and employment law. You can expect great visibility for you and your work as you deliver great customer interactions. We’re offering this role until end December 2026.
Responsibilities- Provide strategic legal advice on a range of HR, employee relations, and employment law matters.
- Be a trusted adviser in all aspects of employment law to a range of stakeholders across the bank.
- Manage employment litigation through the life cycle from ACAS conciliation to Employment Tribunal hearing.
- Support the wider Employment Law Practice (ELP) team activities including the Employment Law inbox, global employment law support, projects, implementation of the Employment Rights Act, and help with complex employment law queries.
- Horizon scan for any legislation, case law, or other developments which may impact the bank.
- Provide high quality advice on complex individual cases.
- Assist with ELP training to HR stakeholders.
- Help project manage ELP delivery in wider HR deliverables and projects.
- Draft and amend contracts of employment, employment policies and settlement agreements, and other employment law related documentation and toolkits.
- Identify learnings and improvements to limit and manage employment law risk and to support colleagues across the bank.
- Develop opportunities to enhance our digital and AI offering.
We’re looking for a UK qualified employment lawyer who can handle a range of conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment. With a strong focus on delivery and customer service and excellent communication skills, you’ll also be able to work collaboratively as part of a wider team. This role is likely to be suitable for someone in the region of 2-5 PQE, but any candidates with the appropriate skills will be considered.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate, influence, constructively challenge and think commercially.
- A strong commercial and pragmatic focus.
- Experience of litigation and providing day-to-day ad-hoc advice.
