We’re working with a multi-channel retailer based in Manchester City Centre that are looking to bring a Demand Planner into their team. This is a perfect opportunity for a candidate who wants involvement in managing one of their busiest portfolios end to end. This role sits within the Demand Planning function and will play a key role in managing forecasting, inventory planning, supplier coordination, and global supply chain activity across both internal manufacturing operations and external suppliers.
DemandPlanner – Responsibilities Demand Planning & Forecasting
- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts across multiple product lines and global markets
- Analyse sales trends, historical data, inventory levels, and operational requirements to support planning decisions
- Ensure demand requirements are captured accurately across multiple sites and suppliers
- Identify and manage stock risks including shortages, overstocks, and obsolete inventory
- Manage replenishment planning and purchasing activity with internal manufacturing sites and external suppliers
- Monitor supplier lead times, inventory levels, and order fulfilment performance
- Coordinate inventory movements and inbound stock to support operational requirements
- Support stock optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, logistics partners, and internal stakeholders
- Monitor supplier performance and support improvement initiatives where required
- Liaise with international sites, freight providers, customs agents, and warehouse operations to ensure smooth flow of materials and products
- Escalate supply chain risks and implement corrective actions where necessary
- Generate KPI reports relating to inventory, supplier performance, forecast accuracy, and operational performance
- Analyse planning and inventory data to support strategic and operational decision-making
- Utilise ERP/MRP systems to manage planning, purchasing, and stock control activities
- Previous experience within Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Planning, or Supply Chain Planning
- Strong understanding of forecasting, inventory management, and supplier coordination
- Experience working within manufacturing, distribution, or complex operational environments
- Strong ERP/MRP systems experience (SAP, D365 or similar advantageous)
- Advanced Excel and strong analytical capability
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Highly organised with a proactive and methodical approach
- Salary – £35-45k OTE
- 25 days holiday plus birthday leave
