Salary: £26,400 – £30,400 per annum.
Location:
Salford Quays, Manchester. Hybrid working up to 3 days per week.
- Provide front‑line query support and training to the BGIUK requisitioner community on the Oracle Peoplesoft E‑Purchasing system.
- Advise and guide on product and service selection, and on preferred suppliers.
- Provide direction on the appropriate buying channel for specific goods and services and in particular circumstances.
- Explain to internal customers the benefits of purchasing items from contracted suppliers and the need to comply with the Procurement Policy.
- Place orders on behalf of users when appropriate.
- Maintain and suggest improvements to the static e‑Purchasing catalogue using customer data and feedback.
- Support the collection of rebates from suppliers, using spend data, ensuring rebates are made for the correct amount at the required time.
- Monitor and validate special‑request requisitions raised in People Soft E‑Purchasing.
- Ensure no viable alternative exists within the existing supplier contract landscape or system catalogue.
- Record and report all reported problems and issues with resolution and follow‑up actions using a call log.
- Escalate issues to the Procurement Operations Team Leader where appropriate.
- Assist internal customers with supplier disputes and, when necessary, escalates to the Supplier Relationship Manager.
- Support general procurement administrative duties.
- At least two years of experience in a customer‑service environment, preferably within a procurement team.
- Experience managing customer queries and resolving issues.
- Effective communication at all levels with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with procurement colleagues and internal customers.
- A strong customer‑service ethic and ability to influence stakeholders in challenging circumstances.
- Proven numeracy skills with keen attention to detail.
- Analytical skills and problem‑solving techniques to determine the best course of action.
