Senior Transport Planner

Senior Transport Planner – Worksop - £40,000 - £45,000 We are working with an award-winning transport and logistics business to recruit an experienced Senior Transport Planner. This is a hands-on Senior Transport Planner role responsible for planning a dedicated fleet of approximately 20–30 Class 1 HGVs. It is suited to an experienced planner who enjoys operational planning rather than people management.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and optimise a dedicated fleet of approximately 20-30 Class 1 flatbed vehicles Maximise vehicle utilisation while maintaining exceptional customer service Build and maintain strong working relationships with drivers Coordinate vehicle inspections, maintenance schedules and driver holidays Work closely with Operations and Commercial teams to ensure customer requirements are met Support the wider planning function to ensure workloads are effectively managed Monitor and improve key transport KPIs Ensure jobs are completed accurately and handed over for invoicing React quickly to changing operational demands and resolve issues efficiently

About You:

We are looking for an experienced Transport Planner who is confident managing a busy fleet and enjoys working in a fast-moving logistics environment.

You'll ideally have
- Previous experience within a Transport Planner or Senior Transport Planner position Experience planning a fleet of 20 HGV Class 1 vehicles Strong knowledge of transport planning within a distribution or logistics operation Excellent communication skills with the confidence to build strong relationships with drivers and internal stakeholders The ability to prioritise workloads and make effective decisions under pressure A proactive and resilient approach with strong organisational skills CPC qualification or a willingness to work towards one Desirable:
Experience planning flatbed vehicles
