Purchase Order Coordinator

Manchester | Hybrid - 3 days office / 2 days WFH

We're working with an exciting and fast-growing homewares and fashion business that is looking for a Purchase Order Coordinator to join its busy and collaborative team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who already has experience managing purchase orders and working closely with factories/suppliers, and who is ready to take the next step in their career.

This is a fun, energetic and ambitious business with a great team environment, so we're looking for someone who is naturally proactive, commercially minded and enjoys getting stuck in.

The role would suit someone from either a retailer or supplier background.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage purchase orders from placement through to final delivery, ensuring all details are accurate and up to date.
  • Liaise regularly with overseas factories and suppliers to track orders, production progress and delivery dates.
  • Manage production critical paths, following up on key milestones and ensuring deadlines are achieved.
  • Monitor supplier acknowledgements, quantities, costs, lead times and delivery information.
  • Proactively identify production or delivery issues and work with suppliers and internal teams to find solutions.
  • Maintain accurate systems and reporting, ensuring stakeholders have clear and timely updates.
  • Work closely with teams across merchandising, planning, logistics, quality and sales to keep orders moving efficiently.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and support the wider team in improving supplier performance and on-time delivery.
About You:
  • Previous experience in a production, merchandising, buying, purchasing or supply chain role.
  • Confident managing purchase orders and following them through the production lifecycle.
  • Experience liaising directly with factories or overseas suppliers.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines.
  • A proactive go-getter who takes ownership, spots problems early and isn't afraid to pick up the phone and get things moving.
  • Strong communicator who enjoys working collaboratively in a fast-paced, growing environment.
