Ocean Export Coordinator - Temp to Perm
Location:
Salford, Manchester
Salary:
Up to £35,000
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
The Role
We are currently recruiting for an Ocean Export Coordinator to join our client, a well-established freight forwarding business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in ocean freight exports who is looking to join a busy, fast-paced operation with the potential to secure a permanent position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating ocean export shipments from start to finish, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Managing ocean export shipments from booking through to final destination.
Liaising with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers and customers.
Preparing and processing export documentation, including bills of lading.
Arranging collections, transport and shipping bookings.
Completing customs entries and ensuring all relevant documentation is accurate.
Monitoring shipment progress and providing customers with regular updates.
Handling customer queries and resolving any operational issues.
Ensuring all shipments comply with relevant international shipping regulations.
Maintaining accurate shipment records and updating internal systems.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience within an ocean export or freight forwarding role based in the UK.
Good understanding of ocean freight export procedures and documentation.
Knowledge of shipping lines, overseas agents and transport arrangements.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments.
Comfortable working in a busy operational environment.
Experience using freight forwarding systems would be advantageous.
