Head of Maintenance

A rapidly growing residential platform is seeking a Head of Maintenance to lead the strategic and operational delivery of maintenance services across a growing national Single-Family Housing and Build to Rent portfolio.

This is a genuine build opportunity, offering the chance to create and lead a best-in-class maintenance function from the ground up. The successful candidate will take ownership of reactive and planned maintenance, contractor and supplier performance, compliance, asset management, lifecycle planning and capital works, while developing the systems, processes and operating standards that will support the platform as it scales.

Working closely with Development, Procurement, Finance and Operations, the role will play a key part in mobilising new assets, supporting acquisitions and handovers, implementing CMMS and asset management platforms, managing maintenance budgets and driving a consistently high-quality resident experience across the portfolio.

Key requirements:
  • Significant experience leading multi-site estates, facilities or maintenance operations across residential portfolios.
  • Previous experience within Build to Rent, Single-Family Housing, PRS or a comparable residential environment.
  • Strong track record managing reactive and planned maintenance, contractor performance, compliance and lifecycle programmes.
  • Experience developing operational processes, implementing maintenance or asset management systems, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Commercially astute, with experience managing maintenance budgets, analysing performance data and identifying cost efficiencies.
  • Proven ability to build, lead and develop high-performing teams within a growing business.
  • Technical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ or Degree) or substantial leadership experience within a technical maintenance environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the estates and maintenance strategy of an ambitious residential platform backed by a leading European operator, with genuine scope to influence how the business grows in the years ahead.
