Please take the time to read the attached job description We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Supervisor to join our team at Wythenshawe Hospital.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in overseeing and delivering essential Mechanical and Plumbing maintenance services across a complex healthcare environment.

You will be responsible for managing day to day operations, leading trades staff and subcontractors, and ensuring all activities comply with relevant legislation, standards, and best practices.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in building services, a thorough understanding of health and safety regulations, and proven experience in managing maintenance projects within a busy, regulated environment.

What You’ll Do:

Lead the day to day operation and management of Mechanical trade staff and specialist sub contractors.

Ensure all statutory and non statutory PPM work is fully compliant with relevant legislation and industry standards.

Hold a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical trades and possess a good working knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 Be responsible for water hygiene management, including compliance with ACOP L8 and HSG 274, and act as a Responsible Person for water hygiene and ventilation.

Manage and coordinate reactive and planned maintenance activities, including rosters, risk assessments, and ensuring timely completion of works.

Maintain accurate records of Mechanical PPM activities, faults, and remedial actions, and advise on fault finding and system improvements.

Control permits, shutdowns, and mechanical isolations, ensuring safety and compliance across all operations.

Drive continuous improvement by managing minor projects, ensuring KPI adherence, and supporting operational and technical needs.

What You Bring:

NVQ Level 3 Qualification in Mechanical Engineering and Plumbing Willing to learn and go on courses to add to current qualifications Experience in healthcare or large, complex sites is an advantage, but not essential.

Proven experience in a mechanical and plumbing setting A good working knowledge of health and safety regulations A practical, reliable approach and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
