You'll spend around half your time dealing with the day‑to‑day management of the site's facilities everything from organising repairs to plumbing, drainage, roofing, utilities and building fabric while the other half will focus on planning and delivering longer‑term improvements, developing a rolling 0‑3 year facilities plan and managing projects that support future business growth.

The RoleThis is a genuinely varied position where no two days are the same.
One day you could be organising colleagues to repair a leaking roof, resolving drainage issues, dealing with building services or managing utility outages. The next, you'll be planning capital improvements, reviewing future infrastructure requirements, preparing budgets or developing the site's three‑year facilities strategy.
You'll become the person responsible for ensuring the site remains safe, compliant, efficient and ready to support future growth.
Typical Responsibilities Day‑to‑Day Facilities Management (Approximately 50%)- Respond to day‑to‑day building and facilities issues including plumbing, drainage, roofing, utilities and general building maintenance.
- Manage contractors carrying out reactive and planned works.
- Oversee site services, utilities and infrastructure.
- Ensure statutory inspections and compliance activities are completed.
- Manage Permit to Work, RAMS and contractor safety.
- Support production by resolving facilities issues quickly to minimise downtime.
- Carry out regular site inspections and identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a rolling 0‑3 year facilities improvement plan.
- Deliver facilities Cap Ex projects from concept through completion.
- Prepare budgets, quotations and business cases.
- Improve maintenance planning and CMMS systems.
- Drive energy, sustainability and cost‑saving initiatives.
- Plan future infrastructure upgrades to support business growth.
- Report project progress and facilities performance to senior management.

You’ll enjoy solving practical problems, working with contractors and keeping a manufacturing site running efficiently, while also taking satisfaction from planning improvements that make a lasting difference.
You’ll ideally have:
- Experience managing facilities within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.
- HNC/HND or equivalent engineering qualification.
- Knowledge of contractor management, PUWER, LOTO and statutory compliance.
- Experience delivering facilities improvement or Cap Ex projects.
- Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH (or equivalent).
- Experience using CMMS or planned maintenance systems.
- Multi‑skilled engineering or maintenance background.
- Building services or utilities experience.
- Project Management qualification (Prince2 or PMP).
- Lean or Continuous Improvement experience.
- Knowledge of BMS, CAD or energy management systems.
This isn't a desk‑based facilities planning role, nor is it purely reactive maintenance.
It's a genuinely balanced position where you'll spend your time keeping the site running today whilst helping shape how it operates tomorrow making it ideal for someone who enjoys both practical problem‑solving and long‑term planning.
