One of Manchesters leading Universities is recruiting a Facilities Operative. The Facilities Operative will be working as part of the Facilities team to provide a professional, customer focused, compliant and cost effective FM service to support core University objectives including: compliance inspections and maintenance, portering, waste management and parcel duties.
Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance & Repairs:
  Carry out minor fix-ups like unblocking sinks, patching walls, changing light bulbs, or fixing furniture using basic tools.
• Porterage & Setup:
  Move heavy furniture, deliver mail or parcels across campus, and set up lecture halls for exams or conferences. Driving equipment in a university van across campus.
• Compliance & Safety:
  Conduct routine checks on fire alarms, report structural defects, and ensure compliance with health and safety (COSHH) rules.
• General Upkeep:
  Assist with external grounds care, litter picking, pressure washing, and waste or recycling disposal.
