About the Role

We are looking for a skilled, proactive and reliable Maintenance Operative(Joiner) to join our Facilities Management team at HMP Forest Bank.

In this role, you will play an important part in maintaining a safe, secure and efficient environment by carrying out joinerymaintenance, repairs, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and project work across the establishment.

Working as part of the wider Facilities Management team, you will help ensure that maintenance activities are completed to the required standards, within agreed timescales and in accordance with health andsafety requirements, relevant legislation and site security procedures.

This is an excellent opportunity for a practical,hands-on individual who takes pride in their workmanship, works well as part ofa team and understands the importance of delivering a professional maintenance service in a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out joinery maintenance, repairs and planned preventative maintenance tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
• Complete maintenance and project work as directed by the Technical Facilities Manager.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely, professionally and in line with relevant trade standards, legislation and good working practices.
• Follow all Health and Safety policies, procedures and risk control measures.
• Comply with tool management procedures and the site's Local Security Strategy.
• Support the effective day-to-day operation of the establishment by responding to maintenance requirements and priorities.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and other teams to ensure an effective and responsive maintenance service.
• Supervise prisoner working parties where required and appropriate.
• Participate in the on-call rota and undertake late working when required.
• Follow all Sodexo policies and procedures and undertake other reasonable duties that support the effective operation of the prison.

Working Arrangements

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week across 5 days outof 7 . Flexibility is required tosupport operational needs, including participation in the on-call rota and occasional late working.
